ISO/TS 16949 (TS2) is a set of quality system requirements created specifically for the automotive industry. This technical specification encompasses ISO 9001, international automotive and customer-specific requirements. The goal of ISO/TS 16949 is to develop fundamental quality systems that will provide continual improvement, emphasize defect prevention, and reduce variation and waste in the supply chain.

QS-9000 is an automotive quality management system that is due to expire December 2006. It's easy to upgrade your current QS-9000 registration to ISO/TS 16949 or ISO 9001:2000.
