Facility questionnaire
Initial fact finding to gain understanding of the company's size, number of locations, business processes, and specific service requirements
Proposal/Site Visit
Customized proposal and costs
Readiness Review (ISO/TS 16949:2002)
Determination of readiness for registration or "upgrade" audit
Documentation Review
Conducted to ensure policies and procedures meet the intent of the standard
Preliminary Assessment (optional)
"Pre-audit" to identify potential problem areas
Initial Assessment/Audit
Verification that the management system has been fully implemented
Clearance of Non-Conformances (NCs)
Approval of corrective actions that eliminate the course non-conformances, prior to certification
Registration and Certificate
Issuance of certificate after closure of non-conformances
Surveillance Audits
Annual or semiannual audits, focusing on system maintenance and continual improvement
Re-registration Audit
Performed once every three years. Duration of audit based on performance
