Registration Process Roadmap

QMI believes that the registration process should be interactive and set the foundation for a long-term partnership. We can suggest registration approaches to accommodate diverse business strategies. Facility questionnaire
 Initial fact finding to gain understanding of the company's size, number of locations, business processes, and specific service requirements
Proposal/Site Visit
Customized proposal and costs
Readiness Review (ISO/TS 16949:2002)
 Determination of readiness for registration or "upgrade" audit
Documentation Review
 Conducted to ensure policies and procedures meet the intent of the standard
Preliminary Assessment (optional)
 "Pre-audit" to identify potential problem areas
Initial Assessment/Audit
 Verification that the management system has been fully implemented
Clearance of Non-Conformances (NCs)
 Approval of corrective actions that eliminate the course non-conformances, prior to certification
Registration and Certificate
 Issuance of certificate after closure of non-conformances
Surveillance Audits
 Annual or semiannual audits, focusing on system maintenance and continual improvement
Re-registration Audit
 Performed once every three years. Duration of audit based on performance
