QMI Leads ISO 9001 Initiatives Into Healthcare Industry

Improving patient safety, reducing errors, decreasing patient wait times, and increasing operational efficiency in hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and long-term care facilities are the hottest topics and goals in the healthcare industry today. The products QMI offers through ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and Occupational Health & Safety standards are proven to be effective in helping organizations within this industry to attain these goals as seen with some of QMI’s recent success stories such as Fraser Valley Health Authority in British Columbia, Canada, and Santa Fe Hospital in Mexico City, Mexico.

The Healthcare Industry is hungry for tools that will assist in attaining the goals listed above, and QMI is ready to help with that process. The industry is ready to embrace management systems registration, and QMI will be at the forefront as the choice registrar for this industry.

Jill Sporidis Named Product Manager, Healthcare To keep pace with the rapidly growing healthcare industry, QMI has appointed M. Jill Sporidis as Product Manager, Healthcare. Her responsibilities include the development, implementation, delivery, and management of QMI’s healthcare products including blood and blood components (CSA Z902), biomedical laboratory (ISO 15189), diagnostic imaging standards, sterilization standards and others.

Sporidis joined QMI in 2002 in the role of Regional Account Executive in the Client Services Department and remained in that position until 2005 when she was promoted to the role of Manager, Auditor Certification. In this role, Sporidis was instrumental in the creation of QMI’s Internal Auditor Certification Program, as well as the Auditor Competency Assessment and Evaluation Tools.

Sporidis has an extensive background and strong understanding of the healthcare delivery systems in North America and abroad. She is keenly aware of the need for quality standards in the Healthcare sector today, as well as the surrounding challenges that the lack of quality standards implementation currently presents.
