After an annual review of publicly held corporations, Weyerhaeuser has again been selected for inclusion on the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes for North America and the United States, Dow Jones has announced. This year, 17 companies were added to the index and 13 were removed. Weyerhaeuser is the only North American forest products company in the Basic Materials industry category to be named to these indexes.
The annually reviewed Dow Jones Sustainability Index is based on companies economic, environmental and social performance in areas such as corporate governance, risk management, climate change, branding, supply chain standards and labor practices. Results of the review are available to asset managers in 14 countries for portfolios tailored for the sustainability-minded investor.
QMI has registered all Weyerhaeuser Company timberlands in North America to the ISO 14001 environmental management standard. In addition to ISO 14001, QMI has registered Weyerhaeuser’s US timberlands to the Sustainable Forestry Initiative ® 2005-2009 standard, and their Canadian timberlands to CAN/CSA Z809. QMI has also registered several of Weyerhaeuser Company’s North American manufacturing facilities are registered to the ISO 9001 quality management system standard and ISO 14001.
